Christmas Special: There was a ripple in the Matrix

T’was a few weeks before Christmas and frost was shimmering on the ground.

A humble worker was sat in front of their laptop rearranging their Evernote tags (Ha! Lies! Tags = Chaos 😂), when suddenly he felt something, a strange sensation in the air.

There was a ripple in the Matrix.

A strange rattling sound started emanating from the kitchen. The humble worker slowly made his way down the stairs, across the hallway and into the kitchen.

The cutlery drawer was shaking, groaning, heaving.

The humble worker hesitantly opened the drawer and what terrifying thing did he see?

All the spoons were bent.

At the very same moment an email ping was heard from upstairs but it was different, slowed down, deeper in sound, a worrying sound.

The humble worker left his spoons, all bent and dashed upstairs where an email was waiting.

Evernote had been bought by Bending Spoons.

The humble workers initial reaction was that Uri Gellar has bought Evernote but he read the email and saw it was Italian app giant Bending Spoons that had made the purchase.

Then the air suddenly changed, it felt thicker and a vision appeared on the wall behind the laptop.

It looked like Phil Libin or was it Ian Small. A kind of bastardisation of the two appeared on the surface of the wall, like oil on water. It said unto the humble worker,

“I am the ghost of Christmas future and I bring you wild speculation of new features in Evernote”.

• Record video & audio from the app and have it automatically transcribed and translated. Great for meetings.

• Automatic language translation when collaborating on notes.

• Make all your images look amazing from within the the Evernote apps.

• Extract images and text from PDFs and add them to the note.

• Automatically rearrange your tasks based on your calendar & workflow so you become more productive.

• Analyse spreadsheet or external database data, deliver results and make predictions.

• An built-in predictive, productivity focused keyboard with fonts for the mobile apps.

• Full speeling and grammar checking inside the app.

• Personalised productivity plans tailored to your workflow.

And as quickly as the vision appeared it faded away.

The air returned to normal and there was a feeling that all was well again within the Matrix.

The humble worker returned to organising his tags (no he didn’t - he hates tags😂) while thinking about what may happen in the next few months.
