A huge thank you to Arne and Lance who paid subscribers over the last week and many thanks also to those who bought me a coffee . Taming the Trunk is 100% reader supported, no ads or commission links and your support is really appreciated.
I’ve been using Evernote since 2008, but it lacks intelligent note integration. Users must manually connect notes. EvNt’s AI features are emerging, but none perform contextual analysis, allow me to review results, or automatically link notes. While I can do this, Evernote lacks this key second brain functionality.
I'd like to see my connections into Evernote. The ability for Evernote to see data from other apps. Not sure I'd want AI auto linking notes for me, can imagine the mess but a nice rules system would be good.
This is a key reason why I finally migrated from Evernote to Notion earlier this year Bill. I was such a big proponent of Evernote and using it as a place to store literally every thought and digital fragment in my life. But I kept running up against the inability to treat my content like objects that could be manipulated and twisted into different things. Notion was a natural switch for me. (I'm not paid by them or anything like that; just a user who pays for their Pro plan).
I'd say overall a nett positive year for the Elephant - more green than red
When I saw my new invoice (approx $300 AUD), I initially had some sticker shock until remembering that this works out at $6 per week. All in the framing
I think the point Jon made in his article that with 11k Notes taking Apps, Evernote went the premium route however it hasn’t delivered anything that justify that price increase YET…
I have an Evernote subscription but I have hardly used it, as I know I won't be able to afford... No it's not that, it's too bloody expensive for what it is.
