Just love the continuous improvements! With the possible exception of LLM models, I've never experienced an app that improved this steadily.
So I reveal myself as hopelessly ungrateful by quietly bemoaning we still can't link to a saved search. In my extensive research, I often find myself wanting to link to a number of other notes that could be found through a complicated search. Right now I have to note the name of a saved search that will find them and then go find it. Pure bliss if I could simply link to it. One day maybe!
I’ve just come back to this thread to make this exact same point. It would really unlock so much if Evernote had the ability to insert a link to a saved search. You could do so much with this. For me this is the number one major limitation. (The other is a lack of a canvas feature similar to Obsidian, where you can visually lay out notes and click through to the respective underlying notes - but I realise this is comparatively v wishful thinking when it comes to Evernote). Fingers crossed!
Yes, this would be huge. I use Evernote for 8-10 unrelated parts of my life - but the saved searches for all of them end up on my sidebar. That makes the sidebar really long and ungainly - plus I keep hitting the limit (100? 150?) on the number of items I can put there. It would be heaven if I could have a note for each of my 8-10 topics, full of saved searches for just that area.
Fantastic new feature. Interestingly, having updated the app on my iPhone and iPad, it was working perfectly on my iPhone, but Notebooks and Stacks were not being recognised on my iPad. The solution was to Sign Out of the iPad Evernote app completely, restart my ipad, then sign back in.
Yes, the expansion of the @ links feature is nice. Although I think I'll make most use of it for links to Notebooks. Not sure how useful it is for Stacks or Spaces. I'm only using Stacks minimally, so it's unlikely I'll be linking to them. I do use Stacks as a significant organisational feature, but linking to a Stack means the results displayed when opening the link are all the notes in all the notebooks in the stack are disokayed... not sure if that's helpful? I think that when I opened a link yo a stack, it would be more useful to see a list on the notebooks in the stack.
Interestingly, although I updated my Evernote for Mac desktop application to Evernote 11.20.2, I am not able to choose, notebooks, stacks or spaces when I use the @ command. I just see notes. I am, however, able to see notebooks, stacks and spaces on my mobile (iPhone) application when I invoke the @ command. Too bad, I was looking forward to this function!
Hi Jon! Thank you for your quick response and keep the Evernote info coming! I logged out and back in and still do not have the functionality with my desktop application. Strange!
OK Just heard back from a dev and it should be out for everyone, no rollout. Double check the version install worked. Should be 11.20.2 in the About Evernote bit in the top menu. Then try another log out and back in again.
Thank you - you always explain Evernote's capabilities simply and in a way we can start applying them right away.
The intraconnectivity of the information one keeps in Evernote now has so many avenues, it's almost like we're going to have a system discipline - eg, to use Spaces or not, many or few notebooks, allowing Notes in Spaces untethered to a Notebook, to Tag or not to Tag...
You might want to write something about when using intraconnectivity becomes cobwebs maintenance.
Thanks George. Thats a really good idea. I've made a note to write something up about this as there are so many options in Evernote it can be easy to make things very complicated.
hi that ois a nice option. But if i make in a shared notebook a link to a stack, will the user who is shared see the stack? or be informed this link is not available ?
That's a really good question. Just tested it. Created a link in a shared to something that isn't shared. Opened my demo account, clicked the link and it said "Note not available".
You see the link and the title of the note but can't get to the note.

Try a log out and back in again. Hopefully this should kick things off.

I’ll check and see of it’s a rollout. Sometimes they just launch stuff and other times they eke it out over a few days. I’ll ask the question.

There seems to be a bug using the "@" command for linking notes.
It's not working!
I type @ pick the note for the list and press enter. Then the "mention" shows up but when you click the link, it doesn't go anywhere.
Unfortunately I only realized this after I had linked many notes.
Now I have to go back to the note I want to link and do the "Copy Internal Link" and paste it where I wanted it. What a pain!
Yeah. I think(?) this is fixed in this weeks update. Its just the link itself not working so you won't have to relink anything.

Nice enhancement. When I did the update and tried it, linking to Spaces did not work.
Interesting. Just checked and it worked on my PC. Try a log out and back in again to see if it gets it going.
