Jon, You discuss the new text-to-voice feature now in the product roadmap. I'm not sure that I'd use this often. I agree with you that text-to-voice functionality in other apps usually has a terrible choice of voices, all of which sound robotic. But, with a good voice, there are times it would help. For example, I recently took an online driver training class, to reduce the cost of my vehicle insurance. Rather than reading all of the text, I chose to have it read to me. That was nice!
You also mentioned that your sat-nav seems passive-aggressive sometimes. And, from your description, it seems that the one you're using doesn't recognize a roundabout. If you have an iPhone , you might try Apple Maps. It recognizes roundabouts and tells you, "at the roundabout, take the second exit".
I like the way Apple maps verbal directions are relative instead of absolute. For example, if your system tells you to turn left in 1,000 feet, but there are several streets that are close together, I often had trouble knowing which to turn on. With Apple maps, it instead says something like "go through the next traffic signal, then turn left at the second one". These relative directions work much better for my brain. And the voice is good too.
Yeah. I hope they have some voices to choose from.
The mini roundabouts near me are not really roundabouts but traffic calming methods so the only way is straight on but they are round... a very strage setup. I use Waze and it usually tells me which exit and if there are potholes!
It's not good enough that they've added the text-to-voice feature, but they have to also include voices that will satisfy our likes... 🤣😎
I haven't tried this new feature. But a feature they added a while back, where EN can transcribe an audio recording, was rather disappointing due to the very restrictive size limit of the recording. I haven't tested extensively, but every time I recorded a conversation that lasted 40 minutes to an hour, the transcription add-in would choke and would advise that there is a rather small MB limit on audio files that can be transcribed.
I always mute the verbal directions. I find them very distracting, as I listen to podcasts usually and sometimes, the instructions interrupt the audio stream every few minutes. Of course, that has caused me to miss my turn on some long drives, but it's a small price to pay... 😱🤓

Higher limits are coming soon. Right now I think the limit is about 30MB which is not really enough for meeting. Hopefully not too far away.

The really nice thing, of course, is that it's an option. You can turn it off. I can turn it on.
