This week on Ask Me Anything about Evernote we have a question from Liz.
If you have a question you’d love an answer to then leave it in the comments below and I’ll add it to the list.
Liz asks
What’s the most creative use of Evernote you’ve come across?
Great question. There's quite a few.
I've spoken to a number of authors who use Evernote to plan, research and even write their novels, a couple of them being well known best selling authors.
I know of a few songwriters who draft lyrics in Evernote and one who uses the voice note feature to hum ideas when they're out and about.
One of the most elaborate workflows I saw was a company that manufactured bespoke silver gifts and jewellery.
Their online store would email orders into Evernote in a specific notebook and each day someone would review each order and tag them for the next stage. Sometimes items needed engraving, others needed moulds making or decorating and the tags signified the next stage of that orders process.
They had multiple Evernote accounts and different members of staff would pull up their tag to see what they needed to do. For example, the engraver would be able to see all their jobs they needed to work on.
There was also a lot of client communication required for some orders so they used tags to monitor the process and chase folk up.
It worked really well for them and I think they managed around 30 - 50 new orders a day.
I also know a guy who uses Evernote as Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software where he records all communications with his clients.
He manages over 2000 clients in total and uses many notebooks and tags to keep track on what's important.
He also makes use of linked notes so that projects, clients and notes are all connected.
The great thing about Evernote is its flexibility. You're not forced into a certain way of organising so it’s possible for folk to create their own systems that work for them.
One more, I read ages ago about a Hollywood cinematographer who used Evernote to capture ideas.
I'll open this for the community.
