The release notes mentioned a bug fix re F2 to rename title notes. Just tested it and working like it used to which is good as, for me at least, F2 wasn't working for a long while

A lot of folk going to be happy with this. I think the bug was years old!

“No more simplified English with zeds all over the place!” I rezemble that comment!

This is VERY helpful - as always.

But Jon, although I agree with almost everything you say, I'm going to have to draw the line at "no Oxford commas." (Although I will not object to your position on the em dash....)

Ha. From what I’ve found out US schools teach Oxford comma? My generation in the UK didn’t. Never got mentioned. Lots of us got old and just found out it was a thing.

I actually looked up the origins this morning, and it did originate in the U.K., but then was apparently abandoned for (IMO flimsy) reasons mostly put forth by journalists and newspapers: "looks cluttered," "takes up room in print," and so on.

Yes, used in the US by many but not all, and is presumably taught, as I have always used it. Perhaps you'd find the book Eats, Shoots & Leaves, a book all about punctuation. The title is a litle illustration of how the placement or lack of a comma can chagne the meaning!

Wow - more than you wanted! (but if you do a search you will find a lot more...)

I have that book on my self but must admit I've never read it. I will make the effort.

As it uses OpenAI, it would be nice to be able to sign in to your ChatGPT account to bring over the already-created memories and your already-trained AI.

Good idea. I basically copied mine.

Not all the AI stuff is OpenAI. I believe Title generator, transcription and semantic search use their own AI. Interesting to see how this progresses.

Very useful to see the AI memory settings. Do you know if they synchronise across Evernote? In other words, when I've created the settings on one computer do I need to recreate them on another or is Evernote smart enough to realise that on all my Macs I want the same AI behaviour?

Jon Tromans's avatar

They do. I created mine on my Mac and they appear on my PC.

Good to read this, thanks Jon

You are right. When I click on the note associated with a task, a new tab opens with the note displayed. However, if I am viewing the task kingdom in my pinned tasks tab and I click on my inbox in that pinned tab, the inbox replaces the task kingdom in the pinned tab. Keep up the GREAT work!

I love your posts. With tabs, I wish that the content of the tab would be locked. When I open my Tasks tab and open the note which is associated with a task, the note replaces tasks for that tab. Yikes!

Jon Tromans's avatar

Also try pinning the task tab as I have a funny feeling anything clicked in a pinned ab opens a new tab.

I think there's a fix coming for this. The version I'm using opens the task note in a new tab. There's also a right click on the note in the task kingdom for opening in a new tab. Check updates or hang on a bit longer.
