A huge thank you to Anne who became a paid subscriber over the last week and many thanks also to those who bought me a coffee. Taming the Trunk is 100% reader supported, no ads or commission links and your support is really appreciated.
Another transcription annoyance, that doesn't seem to have been fixed in the latest update:
* EDITING IDENTIFIED SPEAKER NAMES
When clicking the speaker placeholders (Speaker 1 etc) to edit, the placeholder text shows as selected, but when I start to type it tacks it on at the end of the placeholder text instead of replacing the selected text.
The increased time limit for transcription is really welcome, as people tend to blabber on in meetings (other people, that is… ;-) )
* SEARCH FOR MEETING AUDIO FILES (transcribed, or not)
Being able to see an estimated transcription time is useful as well. Now I wonder: is there a search syntax to search for meeting audio files (or are they the same as attached audio files), and is there a way to search for meeting audio capture that hasn’t been transcribed yet? That could be useful.
* DELETE AUDIOFILES (keeping the transcription and summary)
I also wished there was a way to delete the meeting audio file, after it has been transcribed, and still keep the Transcript and Summary ”tabs” (just remove the audio file).
* ”LEAVE THIS WINDOW OPEN”
When transcribing, I believe there a message on screen to ”leave this window open” or something like that. I always feel insecure as to what that actually means; don’t switch to another window or note in Evernote or if I can switch to a different app or window (essentially if it’s ”Step away from keyboard!” or not).
Transcribed or not transcribed is not built into search but you can do an advanced search for: resource:audio/webm then hit enter and all the .webm audio notes will appear.
At the bottom of a transcript there's a copy button, same for the summary but you can't detach the audio from it and leave the tabs.
If you swap notes when transcribing it stops and you have to do it again.

Yes... I'll mention this as a bug. You need to delete Speaker 1 to type what you want.
