@Jon - Another interesting weekly post. This one follows on, I think, from a comment I left in the chat, about the "universal" tools that EN is providing that aren't linked from the main app, but via a URL. I shall have to play around with these a bit to see how I can use them.
One thing that confused me about the "Record and transcribe meetings" tool - although it doesn't explicitly say so, I'm presuming that it's designed for video calls like via Google Meet or Zoom? (i.e. not for meetings around a table) . I had a very qucik play with it and managed to get it to save a short recotding (a .webm file) and get a Summary and Transcription display - but there didn't seem to be a way of getting the transcription saved as a EN note or anything else. Y think we could do with a demo of how this functions. 😁
Thabks for sharing the live call bideo - sorry I wasn't able to make that one.
Also found Carl Pullen's video interesting - I share his views on not organising all your notes to the nth degree - EN search works very well.
Thanks for the response..'ll have1 another experiment with this when I'm back home later in the week . At the moment ithis feature doesn't seem particularly intuitive.
So I've recorded meetings in Evernote and then had them transcribed afterwards, but I've never used their meeting recorder before. I'll give that a go on Monday when I have my next meeting.
Enjoyed the video from Carl. I love getting a few snippets from others and how they use Evernote to plug into my own workflow. Everything is always an improvement.
I had a 50-ish-minute meeting today. I opened the standalone meeting recorder, logged into my account, and started the recording. I was on my iPad at the time and was concerned the recording would stop if I switched the app, but it didn’t.
The recording was completed without fault, and I started the transcription. Once completed, I was immediately asked if I wanted to add it to Evernote, which I did.
The results are mixed. The transcription was accurate—while not ChatGPT quality, the summary was accurate and useful. The only issue is that everything appeared twice. For example, a bullet point and parts of the transcription were repeated. Even the audio file was duplicated. I don’t know if it was a one-off.
I can tell it’s still in its infancy, but there’s potential there. This was an in-person meeting, but I have a Teams meeting later in the week, so I’ll test it there, too.
Love the meeting notes transcription tool. I've been searching for a simple way to record phone calls with distant family members to avoid having to make notes on the fly. This will do the job very adequately. I'm surprised at how much I forget between phone calls.

I think the idea for the meeting tool is to record Zoom, Team etc and in person meetings as you can record from the app.
If you hit the login button at the top right of the screen you should(?) be able to send the results to your app.

Let me know how you get on. I'll pass on the feedback.

Let me know how you get on. Its a bit of a test right now but I'd like to think it would come to the app in the future.
Ok, so here’s what I did and the results:

Great feedback... I'll pass it onto them.
I've got a meeting in morning so will try it out if I remember.

I'm hoping this comes to the app at some point in the future.
