If they now add syncing handwritten or typed notes to the audio, they will have a near perfect meeting note taking product. Currently Notability and other apps sync audio to the notes but their organization abilities pale in comparison to Evernote. Sure hope they have this feature in the pipeline.

That would be a good idea and seems the logical next step. Send in a feature request as they keep an eye on what folks ask for.

I like the concept, and I look forward to the ability to use my phone to record and summarise live meetings (round the table, not online) is something I'll be looking for. Problems to address will be different sound levels depending on distance from the microphone, background noise, and people chatting over the speaker (which is rude anyway). I would be worried about memory/recording space on the phone, unless the recording can be directed to a separate memory card in the phone. Perhaps the memory card could then be downloaded or removed and inserted into a PC for desktop editing. I dream...

I believe phone support is coming and I hope this ability to record phone calls as well which would be cool.

The limit for transcribing and summarising is 1 hour or 100MB. I hope they increase this.

The total limit will most likely be the note limit of 200MB but I have suggested that if you got to the limit Evernote just starts another note.

My test for a 40 min meeting was 40MB so around a meg a min.

Thanks, Jon.

One point about recording phone calls - I believe you have to tell the other party that you will (or want to) record the discussion. That may vary by jurisdiction, of course. In some places, I believe 'The Authorities' will make a recording...

Yes. Asking for consent is very wise lol.

Not a lawyer... but in the UK you don't need consent if its for personal use but I would get it anyway as its rude not to! Recording for business or sharing with others is consent under GDPR. You need to tell folks you're doing it so they can hang up.

I don't see the ability to star items on the insert list. (using a Mac). Is this feature not yet available on Mac?

I think this is rolling out. Make sure you’re on 10.159.4. Try logging out and back in again to see if it kicks it off.

Correct - I just needed to close the app fully and then re-login. (on Mac)

Hey, great read as always, this new AI meeting recorder sounds absolutly brilliant for productivity. Will the deep dive next week cover how it handles different accents or background noise?

Yes, good idea. I'll mention that as one of the calls was with folk from different countries.

I like the way they've enhabcend Slash menus - very useful.

Hope the meeting transcript feature lives up to expectations - I might have occasional use for it.

The standalone citation creator seems a bit niche, but could be useful if using EN to document research. 1

The aliases are a good idea so it doesn't matter too much what you type. I must admit I've never used a citation so yes, a bit niche for me as well.

I tried the meeting recorder with a Slack Huddle this afternoon and it worked pretty well from inside the macOS app. I used the online version in Chrome to record a Google Meet calls before but this is more convenient.

The transcript was ok, but the Speaker Identification was a bit off - kept putting the same name on multiple lines breaking sentences, shower, for a rambling 30 min call the summary was incredibly helpful to pass the key points onto the rest of the team

Ah good. I'm going to test it a bit more next week and see how speaker identification goes. I like how its really easy to just start a recording. Let me know what happens when you use it more.
