It will be interesting to see how external AI's perform compared to the inbuilt Evernote AI

Have just web clipped that article to 🐘

From working with it the MCP is slower but there's a lot more going on, you can also let the MCP just get on with things in the background.

My own view is that we'll probably end up using the Evernote AI for quick simpler tasks or working directly with a note. MCP will be used for heavier processing for some folk and joining different apps together.

Thanks for the video. I don't recall if you mentioned it, but I understand that you need ChatGPT Plus (or a higher-tier plan) to achieve the integration you discussed.

I think you could be right. I have the plus plan.

I managed to connect to Claude on the free plan but didn’t look at restrictions

I don't think so. I'm using the free ChatGPT, but I'm on a Mac and Apple has provided its users with a sort of upgraded subscription to ChatGPT, so I'm not sure if that is also the case for Windows. For example, I used ChatGPT to run searches and a couple of tasks, like I asked it to generate a table with all the details from my outstanding tasks.

Brilliant! I can’t wait to do this.

I’m just wondering where this would leave the AI Assistant? What would you use each thing for? Or would it be personal preference?

I use them for different things. For quick titles and editing I use the AIA and for more complicated and bulk processes the MCP.

The assistant is getting a new thing in a few weeks which will be a bit of a game changer. Can’t say just yet.

Thanks for the instructions. My preferred AI currently is Grok.ai. I try connecting it, but I get an error from Evernote that the MCP server connection is not available. I was able to connect my ChatGPT account to confirm that the Evernote MCP server is not down. Grok informs me that the their MCP connector should work and for some reason Evernote isn't allowing a connection from Grok. I wrote to Evernote tech support, though I'm afraid I wasted my time, because ever time I reached out to their Tech Support I got non-responses.
